this is how I would style snake boots!

Ever since I decided to give snake-print boots a real chance, I realized that—even though they’re probably the trickiest of all animal prints—they can actually become a staple in my wardrobe. Zebra is easy because it’s black and white, leopard already has years of fashion approval behind it… but snake print? It sits right on that line between effortlessly cool and a little too bold.

But once I get over the initial fear of printed footwear, I find that snake boots work with almost anything. What sets them apart for me is that exotic touch they add—something neutral boots, no matter how trendy, can’t quite deliver.

How I Style Them

1. With an oversized coat or trench

One of my go-to looks is pairing my snake boots with a long, oversized coat. I love letting just the top of the boot peek out underneath. The boots do all the talking.

I stick to color palettes that make sense together:

  • A brown coat with black pants and a white top never fails.

  • Or if I’m in the mood for something fun, I go for a double-faced coat in orange and pink—instant energy.

A big trench coat also works magic. Sometimes I play it cool with subtle greys, and other times I add a bold accessory—like a bright orange bag—to keep things playful.

2. With long skirts or dresses

I don’t just wear my snake boots with jeans. Honestly, they shine even more with long skirts and dresses.

Some of my favorite combos have been:

  • A summer shirt-dress winterized with a chunky sweater and a shearling-lined coat.

  • A denim dress under a trench coat, letting the boots add that rock-chic edge.

  • Or my aviator jacket layered over a cut-out knit dress, paired with heeled snake boots and a bold gold-bead necklace. The mix feels unexpected in the best way.

Why Snake Boots Work So Well for Me

  • They pull me out of my “safe neutrals” without overwhelming the whole outfit.

  • They make a statement, but I never feel costumed—just elevated.

  • And they’re surprisingly versatile: depending on the rest of the outfit, they can go casual or chic with zero effort.
